Mission Statement
The Kohl Players is a theatrical production company dedicated to two equally important and symbiotic goals—to lift the human spirit and to reveal the rich diversity of the human spirit. We hope to bring theatrical works to the stage that will entertain and energize our audiences, providing them an opportunity to see humankind in all its spectacular antitheses—comedy, tragedy, Black, White, rich, poor, young and old. Our hope is to provide enjoyment and enlightenment, believing that these two go hand in hand. When The Kohl Players perform, they seek to bring people together in laughter and in sadness, to move them to feel, powerfully, the ineffable things that link us all regardless of age, gender, race or creed.
The Kohl Players, a non-profit organization, will accept original works that have never before been performed on stage, written by new and established living playwrights.
The Kohl Players takes its name from Kohl—the element used to create the sharply defining charcoal line that outlined the eye in ancient Egypt, a symbol of visionary sight, of creation.
